In 2010 I secured a 12 month internship with Volkswagen Group Ireland, and I then worked part-time while completing a Management Degree. Through all of this time I was involved in real projects that made a difference to our dealers and I became hooked on the automotive industry.
After graduation in 2012 I returned to work initially in Sales Planning and subsequently as Area Sales Manager for Skoda. I had to quickly build my understanding of automotive retailers and build relationships with dealer management and staff. I did so with some success and I know that I made a real difference to business performance for both Skoda Ireland and for my dealers.
People here are actively encouraged to take on new challenges to get as rounded experience as is possible. In 2015 I moved from brand sales to group aftersales and instead of focusing on vehicle sales, my role is now focused on service standards and processes, on parts and accessories, and on customer relationship management. In 2018 I was appointed to Head of Aftersales for Audi Ireland and am currently enjoying the role and the responsibilities that come along with it. I am learning every day with supportive colleagues and we have fun along the way.
In 2015 I completed a part-time Masters Degree in Work and Organisational Behaviour with the support of Volkswagen Group Ireland. I have regular and honest career conversations with my line manager and I am confident that I will be able to fulfil my career ambitions here.
